Student Activities Programming Calendar  | Student Activities Program Categories

There is always something to do on the UNC Asheville campus. The Student Activities Office helps see to that in part by sponsoring Underdog Productions, UNC Asheville's student programming board. In addition, Student Activities sponsors a number of events of its own, including open mics, trivia nights, and free movies.

The purpose of Student Activities Evening and Weekend Programs is to organize and execute fun and educational programming that enhances the knowledge, understanding and skills necessary for personal development, and encourages community involvement and investment to the campus community.

Student Activities Program Categories

Educational (ED)

Student Activities provides educationally enriching programs on subjects of interest to UNC Asheville students that allow students to make connections between traditionally unconnected aspects of their education. i.e. Libuse Binder lecture, Therapy Dogs

Trips (T)

Student Activities provides trip opportunities to students to explore the Asheville community. Trips will have a minimal cost to students with transportation included to the site. i.e. bowling, Arboretum, Biltmore

Creative Expression (CE)

Student Activities provides students with opportunities for demonstrating their creativity as well as opportunities to see creative acts such as comedians and hypnotists.

Variety/Novelty (N)

Student Activites provides fun and interactive co-curricular programs such as roller skating and game shows.

Personal/Professional Development (PP)

Student Activities collaborates with various University departments to create opportunities for practical personal skill development (i.e. personal finance) and professional skill development (i.e. dress for an interview).

Movies (M)

Student Activities sponsors a weekly independent film series and also sponsors blockbuster film nights throughout the semester.
