SAIL Student Position Job Descriptions

The following positions are currently available:

Operations Assistant

THE set up crew! Responsible for setting up and breaking down day-to-day events in HIG including chairs, tables, stage or dance floor. Operations Assistants are also responsible for cleanliness and security of event rooms and building. Duties can include wiping down tables, trash removal if needed or vacuuming, sweeping, mopping. Some work outside of HIG is possible. Shifts vary.

Event Tech

Includes helping with transport and set-up of portable PA systems, microphones, DI boxes, speakers, stage monitors, possible video equipment as needed by event, in HIG and around campus.  Run event from set up until load out. Load-in/out, stage set-up and break down, lighting, sound, etc. Troubleshoot and assist with any needed upkeep on all sound system equipment owned by SAIL. Assist with systematic storage of equipment and supplies. Shifts vary

Marketing Assistant

Maintaining safe and secure environment for users; Assist SAIL staff with graphic design/social media projects;  Check for student OneCards; Enforce all rules concerning the use of computer lounge and building; Assist students with troubleshooting both software and hardware in computer lounge; Printer assistance and upkeep; Keep lounge and equipment clean; General PC maintenance as needed; Filling out logs and reports, as needed; Check out and check-in of iPads; Performs other related duties as assigned.

Game Room Assistant

This position is designed for students interested in joining the Game Room staff to help create a lively and inclusive environment for the UNC Asheville community. This position provides hands-on experience in customer service, policy enforcement, and problem solving. The ideal candidate will be able to communicate effectively with patrons, maintain a professional relationship with patrons and other staff members, and exhibit excellent customer service skills.
